Willowfield

Willowfield is our latest straw bale dwelling. We worked collaboratively with the clients from an early concept stage, taking the building through to completion. The clients wanted a property in harmony with the surrounding landscape, in a quiet countryside setting. The 1.5 storey property replaces a modern property which had received planning permission, better reflecting the new buildings orientation, and position in the landscape to lower the amount of excavation required. The straw bale dwelling is combined with a PV system, a thermal battery for hot water and an Aquatron composting separator leading into a reed bed filtration system.
